Toshiba restructures… CTS continues Sales & Support

On March 21, 2017 CTS was informed that Toshiba is restructuring globally. As your Authorized Toshiba Dealer, CTS will continue to support your existing Toshiba systems and Toshiba will continue to support all warranty and maintenance obligations. Ongoing sales also continue per Toshiba’s FAQ details below.

Systems

How long will Toshiba continue to sell new CIX and IPedge Systems?
Toshiba will continue to sell new CIX and IPedge Systems until 5/22/2017. After 5/22/ 2017, Toshiba will no longer sell new Systems, but will continue to sell new CIX and IPedge Add-On Parts and Licenses.

Add-On Parts and Licenses

How long will Toshiba continue to sell CIX, IPedge, App Server AddOn Parts and Licenses?
The current plan would enable the purchase of CIX, IPedge, App Server Add-On Parts and Licenses including phones, etc. until 12/31/2022 (schools and government may extend beyond this date per their contract terms), subject to remaining Parts Availability. SUS is not required to purchase Add-On Parts and Licenses.

Third Party

How long will Toshiba continue to sell Third Party Product such as TASKE and OAK?
Toshiba will continue to sell Third Party products until 5/22/2017 including TASKE and OAK. After 5/22/2017, the Dealer will need to sign directly with these vendors or their distributors.

Warranty

How long will dealers to able to buy licenses in and out of warranty?
Dealer can continue to buy Toshiba Systems with Standard Warranty until 5/22/2017. Toshiba Extended Warranty options are no longer provided. However, Third Party Extended Warranty can still be purchased until 5/22/2017.

Support and Maintenance

How long will support and maintenance be available?
Ongoing support and maintenance will continue through 12/31/2022 (schools and government may extend beyond this date per their contract terms).

SUS

After 5/22/2017, what type of software updates will be provided under SUS?
After 5/22/2017, Toshiba will continue to release periodic software updates for Critical Bug Fixes and Major Security Patches for those customers under SUS. Toshiba will support the last two versions of software releases per our Tech Support Policy.

UCedge

UCedge on Windows – currently using Chrome Apps which are going away. Will a stand-alone UCedge be released?
Before 5/22/2017, Toshiba will release a new version of UCedge that supports a native installer for Windows and Mac to replace the current Chrome App version.

Product Documentation

Will FYI remain up for documentation and information?
Yes, FYI will remain up during the ongoing support and maintenance period.
