FCC continues VoIP and E911 rulemaking

Last month, the Federal Communication Commission issued public notices of proposed rulemaking on VoIP and E911 services.

Among the issues discussed in document FCC 11-107…

  • Strengthening existing providers’ Enhanced 911 location accuracy
  • Measures to improve 911 availability and location determination for users of interconnected Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services
  • A framework for ensuring that VoIP service providers can provide automatic location information (ALI) for VoIP 911 calls.
